SUICIDE AWARENESS & PREVENTION DAY

JONES COUNTY, NC, AHERO, America's Heroes Enjoying Recreation Outdoors, in conjunction with Jones County and the Town of Maysville, cordially invite you to join them for a Suicide Prevention & Awareness Day, May 7th in Jones County, North Carolina; including a 5K Run|Walk and multi-artist Music Concert

The day begins at 9am with the 5K run/walk at William H. Frost Park in Maysville, NC. Runner/walker registration opens at 8:00am at the United Methodist Church of Maysville, located adjacent to the park. Pre-registration is available for the 5k and the concert event on the AHERO website (AHEROUSA.com). Awards and post race ceremonies immediately follow the race. The evening concert event begins at 5pm, with opening remarks from AHERO Founder, Major Lee Stuckey. The event will feature country music performances by Alabama native and country singer/songwriter, Kevin Adair; as well as Jeff Widenhofer, a veteran and nationally renowned music producer; and Coffey Anderson, who performed on both American Idol in 2003 and Nashville Star in 2008. Inspirational speeches will also entertain, inspire, and complement the live music performances.

The entire day benefits our military service members, Veterans and their families; as well as our surrounding civilian community, through education and awareness. The all-volunteer, non-profit, AHERO organization connects Veterans with patriotic citizens who bring service members together for outdoor social events and activities.

Every dollar raised by AHERO is spent healing the physical and psychological wounds and injuries of military combatants and Veterans by boosting their morale, developing support networks, and introducing programs and resources that help reintroduce them to civilian life stateside.
